A series of gruesome murders leads Chase Dagger to a suspect not quite human. This is the second novel in a series that blends mystery with a dash of fantasy and horror.

Second book in a mystery/horror series that has a light paranormal aspect to it. Well, light when compared to in the Urban Fantasy genre at least. Sara, even though she is a shifter, seems rather normal in comparison. Chase Dagger, the guy the series is based on, is a very capable PI with great contacts and abilities, and some big secrets that don’t come out until later in the series.

Two mysteries are being tackled. One involves the theft of guns and assault rifles from area police departments’ evidence rooms. And the other involves the horror aspect of a creature that is killing others so quickly they don’t have time to react. But we’re along for the ride from each victim’s point of view, bringing the horror the life. The full moon is when this creature will be the strongest and most destructive, so the race is on to figure out the who, what and where. And this guy is interested in Sara.

I’ve read all of the books in the series as soon as they’ve come out. What really grabs me about this series, besides the mystery, are the characters. Some you’ll love and some you’ll just love to hate. And it’s told from multiple points of view. We not only get the regulars, but the victims as well.

Reread this after a suggestion by the author who nicely offered this for free on Kindle in May since her new release, Nightfall, is tied to something that takes place in this book. I’m glad I reread it both for the reminder, but I find it enjoyable and want to go back and reread the rest of the series. ( )

Book Description: A series of gruesome murders leads an Indianapolis cop and a university professor to the doorstep of P.I. Chase Dagger. They have a theory behind the killings. Sergeant Marty Flynn has been tracking the suspect since March 13, 1998. Professor William Sherlock has been researching the killers for far longer. The professor believes the killings only occur prior to and during a full moon on a Friday the 13th. He believes the evil is passed on from generation to generation. Dagger feels the professor knows far too much about the suspect and the murders. When the two men ask, "Have you ever heard of a shapeshifter?", Dagger is forced to reexamine their theory. After all, Sara, his partner, is a shapeshifter. Sara has never known any other shapeshifters. And she doesn't believe something this evil could exist...until it starts communicating with her. FULL MOON-BLOODY MOON combines mystery with an element of horror. Lee Driver is a master storyteller. You will never look at another full moon on a Friday the 13th the same way. Book 2 in the series.
