K.E. Osborn does it again. She creates characters that I wish I could be friends with in real life! Hesitate is the 3rd book in her NOLA Defiance MC series and I think it is the best one so far. We've seen this story coming through the first 2 books and I'm glad we finally got it.
Bayou is a member of the NOLA Defiance MC and his twin brother is the President of the club. In this book we finally get to see who he is as a person. He's the hard alpha male - typical - but he does have a softer side he shows to one person.
That person would be his step sister Novah that he's been in love with for a long time. But being that she is his step sister and they have Ingrid, Nash, and Hurricane to think about he's fought it for years. That is until her work puts her in danger and Bayou steps up to protect her. What he doesn't know is that Novah has been in love with him too and is struggling with it, even if it is subconsciously. What surprised me about her is her lets say sexual status, I don't want to give anything away. That girl has been holding out for a long time let me tell you.
Once they are put into a situation of always being together and alone, not like when they're at the clubhouse and are surrounded by people they have to come to terms with their feelings and make a decision. Once they can get their communication issues in order and actually start to talk about their attractions, things start to heat up. Their relationship is a slow burn, unlike many others. Plus being in danger and having that surround them helps a bit.
They finally come to terms with what they want from each other and then have to tell the family. I won't give anything away but let's say some are happy and some aren't. You can read who feels what. We even get an appearance from the Baroness from the Houston Defiance MC. I hope she makes more appearances in this series cause she's a BOSS! Next up in the series is Lani's story. That one has been building since the beginning of the series and I can't wait. We saw her in this book and she's my favorite character in the series. Along with Novah's friend Xanthe, I hope she lands herself a biker man! I definitely recommend this book! ( )
