What an adventure! Roping and riding competition attract Ivy but women not allowed to enter. Read about Buster Bliss. Ivy is only girl with 4 brothers. They protect her. Jericho an old friend shows up. He is drawn back into ranch. No one can know his mission as his job is dangerous. He doesn't want a woman in life because of danger. But Ivyis hard to resist. She goes off to help two men in town find treasure they are looking for. Jericho feels she is in danger so follows. Danger awaits as well as forest fire. You need to read. But don't think you can lay it down. Loved every minute. ( )

Falling for the Cowgirl is the fourth book in Jody Hedlund’s Colorado Cowboys series about the McQuaid family. Although Ivy is the only girl in her family, she’s feisty, independent, and set on earning enough to buy her own land. With four older brothers to protect her, she’s got her work cut out for her. When undercover Pinkerton agent Jericho Bliss returns to Fairplay, Colorado looking for a criminal, he’s also got his work cut out for him trying to resist and protect Ivy.

Hedlund is a master at creating colorful, engaging characters and intriguing plots. I enjoyed seeing Ivy and Jericho interact. It was also fun to see some of the characters from the previous books in the series show up in this one. I would recommend this book and series to those who enjoy clean, wholesome historical romance.

Ivy is a great lead character—strong, tenacious, intelligent, and bold. I loved reading about her independent personality and her stubborn heart. I enjoyed the enemies to lovers romance trope in this novel. The struggles of Ivy and Jericho make them realistic and allowed me to connect with them well. The author does such a great job of incorporating spiritual truths of forgiveness and trust. And of course the romance was definitely swoon worthy while still being clean. I liked the action and danger in the novel and the book easily kept from attention from start to finish. I enjoyed reading about couples from past novels in this series and although this novel is a complete story on its own, reading the series in order does make it more fun to read about the past characters. A highly recommend read by a talented author!

More McQuaid adventures as this book focuses on Ivy, the only girl who wants to prove herself to her brothers. So she competes as a man in riding and roping contests hoping to earn money to buy her own ranch. Re-enter Jericho Bliss who once meant so much to Ivey but ran off to Chicago in order to save McQuaid brother Dylan.
Lots of danger and intrigue as Jericho tracks down a mean outlaw. Add in hidden treasure and the stakes rise. Not to mention Ivy and Jericho still have feelings for each other that they try hard to deny.
Ms. Hedlund has crafted a stubborn, hardheaded heroine. Ivy has to be so she can stand up to her four brothers. Jericho is a very capable hero but he has a stubborn streak too! Now if only they can listen to God and channel that stubbornness into determination.
See the sparks fly in the cowboy/cowgirl romance. With a final chapter as a sneak peek into the next book about Dylan, this is just the book for a cozy fall day.
