"You get to decide what happens next. Nothing is scripted anymore. So, what exactly do you do? Maybe you're getting some advice, a little instruction and even a few contacts. But you need to put it all together. Career coach and expert, Amy Feind Reeves has written the resource she wishes she had when she failed to land a job after college but went on to enjoy a rewarding 25+ year career as a banker, global management consultant, corporate executive, and non-profit executive. She wrote College to Career, Explained: Tools, Tips & Confidence for Your Job Search to give you the detailed plan for what exactly you need to do to find a job you like. With step-by-step instructions, Amy uses humor and insight to provide examples, exercises, and practical tips that teach you how to: Discover what jobs are out there, and which ones may be right for you, develop the tools you need to get you noticed, build networking skills, and gain confidence in interviews."--… (plus d'informations)

This book came in randomly stars-aligning timing for me. I was sent it as I was finishing my last class toward a Bachelor's degree, looking for a career shift. For that reason alone, I was partial to the wisdom that this book would offer me, but I was so pleasantly surprised by the insightful and practical advice that the author had to convey. For so many young adults that did not take a traditional route, a career seems daunting, impossible. Amy Reeves' expertise as a hiring manager gives her a unique lens and position to speak on career launch. Thank you, Amy! ( )

I received this book as an early reviewer. I wish I had read this book right after college. It's like taking years of wisdom and passing it on. The title really explains the content. I appreciate how Reeves inserts personal experiences, and she makes an excellent career coach. ( )

What a great, step by step, easy to understand and implement book for the college grad. And the fact that so much of the book is from the author's experience makes it that much more authentic, as opposed to sitting behind a desk just spouting what SHOULD be done. My favorite chapter was about developing a job search strategy, including the follow up of sending a thank you email. The entire book was very comprehensive for the new, and also the not-so-new, entering or re-entering the work force. Great book for graduations or for those going back to work. ( )
