I love this book. I read it again and again. It has lovely physical textures on the pages. It is simple, though almost reads like an old story handed down... A boy admires beautiful cherry trees on the other side of the river. A small bird keeps warning of him of the dangers of swimming across, encouraging him to build boats and bridges instead until... something happens. What will the boy do now? Simple but cute and compelling illustrations. ( )
