Mark Somerset is a full-time children's book author and publisher. He writes stories that make you laugh and dream. His first book Cork on the Ocean (2005) was followed in 2008 by Cork and the Bottle, both illustrated by Rowan Sommerset. The Herald on Sunday described Cork on the Ocean as afficher plus 'Beautiful, unique, charming. A book to be treasured'. I Love Lemonade
I literally LOL when reading this book! great stuff!
I love this book. I read it again and again. It has lovely physical textures on the pages. It is simple, though almost reads like an old story handed down... A boy admires beautiful cherry trees on the other side of the river. A small bird keeps warning of him of the dangers of swimming across, encouraging him to build boats and bridges instead until... something happens. What will the boy do now? Simple but cute and compelling illustrations.
