This is a gem of a book about migration, to go back to time and time again. I love the extra information about the animals at the end of the book. This is a great addition to our home library!Cette critique a été écrite dans le cadre des Critiques en avant-première de LibraryThing. This beautiful tale of winter migration seamlessly weaves together the narrative of an Arctic tern's journey south with the travels of five other animal species - humpback whales, caribou, Canada geese, leatherback turtles, and monarch butterflies. The illustrations are gorgeous and realistic, paired with simple text following one Arctic tern from the Arctic to Antarctica. In the backmatter, we learn that this is the longest migration of any animal in the world. A lovely example of how nonfiction can be made accessible and engaging to readers of all ages.As a side note, shame on the publisher for slapping a large sticker on the beautiful shimmering book jacket cover just to inform us that an audiobook version is included! Can't seem to peel it off, so I'd like to register a complaint with whoever made that poor choice!! Cette critique a été écrite dans le cadre des Critiques en avant-première de LibraryThing. Cute story and illustrations of a little tern heading south for the winter. There's also a glossary in the back of terms and animals within the pages. Cette critique a été écrite dans le cadre des Critiques en avant-première de LibraryThing. This picture book explores the life of a tern as she migrates to a warmer climate. She sees others along the way who are also migrating to warmer climates. Beautifully illustrated by Jenny Lovlie. A glossary at the end of the book makes way for inquisitive minds who want to know more. This will make a wonderful addition to our school library. Augustine SchoolCette critique a été écrite dans le cadre des Critiques en avant-première de LibraryThing. We enjoyed this picture book on migration. It follows an arctic tern as he sees other animals get ready to head south for the winter. I especially liked the caribou page as they are described as "ants over the hills, between the valleys, and through the rivers." The illustrations were lovely and there is a page in the back with more information on the animals. To be honest, I prefer when these extra non-fiction tidbits are added to the pages in the book. I think they get lost at the end of the book. All in all a nice new book on migration that kids, parents, and teachers will enjoy. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
