After a great first volume, Hyperion's cyle continues with The Fall of Hyperion. The pitch is just as exciting since Dan Simmons exploits a poem from John Keats and puts it into a space opera perspective. This is such an ambitious work and Dan Simmons shines at describing the Man vs. Machine confrontation. However the storyline is not as smooth and clear as it could have been and the writer should have made a few cuts here and there. I also thought the ending was quite weak and the place of religion kind of extreme throughout the story.
