"New York Times bestselling author Scott Galloway argues, the pandemic has not been a change agent so much as an accelerant of trends already well underway. In Post Corona, he outlines the contours of the crisis and the opportunities that lie ahead. Some businesses, like the powerful tech monopolies, will thrive as a result of the disruption. Other industries, like higher education, will struggle to maintain a value proposition that no longer makes sense when we can't stand shoulder to shoulder. And the pandemic has accelerated deeper trends in government and society, exposing a widening gap between our vision of America as a land of opportunity, and the troubling realities of our declining wellbeing."-- Provided by publisher.… (plus d'informations)

Disclaimer: I am a huge Scott Galloway fan. He is one of the top thought leaders in this country particularly when it comes to technology, branding, marketing and business. As a college professor at NYU, he has been a consistent critic of education and has offered various ideas on how to improve College recruitment and course presentation. He and Kara Swisher present the most informative podcast which I never miss called “Pivot.”

Post Corona represents Galloway's analysis, opinions and projections on how COVID-19 will change the worlds of business, education and technology. His presentation is very clear – – no MBA or business degree needed. Shown below are some snippets of his thinking:

Too many managers try to Botox their aged brands into a semblance of youth, when they should be letting them go to a profitable hospice.

A university president bragging about rejecting 90% of applicants is tantamount to a homeless shelter taking pride in turning away 90% of the needy that arrive each night.

The most important factor determining an American’s life expectancy is the zip code they are born into.

The $2-trillion relief package passed in March 2020 was a theft from future generations.

Study after study has found that in today’s America, the biggest determinant of an individual’s economic success is not talent, it’s not hard work, and it’s not even luck. It’s how much money their parents have.

Where is that shared purpose today? We are fighting an enemy three times as lethal to our population as the Axis powers, yet Americans don’t want to wear masks and expect the government to send them more money. Resistance to sacrifice and dismissal of community is framed as “liberty.”

My investing advice is simple: I only invest in unregulated monopolies.

Galloway is not always right in his predictions but his shooting (accuracy) percentage is pretty amazing especially when it comes to huge tech giants like Amazon, Google, Facebook and Apple. He believes that the pandemic has acted as aan “accelerant” to changes and opportunities for business, education and society.

Post Corona is an excellent read and source of information (and inspiration) especially for young entrepreneurs, business students and investors. ( )

Loved this book and Scott Galloway’s perspective. I appreciate the dry humor laced throughout as well! ( )
