( )I enjoyed the basic premise of this book... who doesn't dream about a rock star spotting you and falling madly in love??... there were some sweet love moments, some detailed love moments, and witty banter between the characters. I loved all of that. What I didn't love so much was the feeling that the writer was being paid by-the-word and was determined to make her fortune! There were times that descriptions could have been accomplished in a sentence or two but entire paragraphs were used and I truly just got tired of reading it! Far too many of these to just be an author with attention to detail. It became mundane and boring. If you can get through that then you'll enjoy the story and the characters. I haven't yet decided if I can tolerate Book 2. I was provided with a copy of this book by librarything.com in return for my honest review and that is what I have given. Hex, Love, Rock & Roll is a mystical delight! Helen is your hot mess friend you can't not adore and Brian's worldly, good-guy nature is swoonworthy. They fit. In her debut novel, Kat Turner's descriptions are exceptional and the spit-fire voice in this work is vibrant and fresh. The character's are so real, you step into the page. If you like magic in the modern world, steamy scenes, and perfectly imperfect characters, pick this read up. Helen is on the brink of financial disaster when she finds out she is a witch. Her good intentions go awry and yum yum rock god Brian enters her life. The way Kat Turner gets into these characters is awesome; they are so well developed and true to life. The will they/won’t they was believable. I liked the magic set up-it was familiar but with some twists that made it seem new and different. The plot had some weird turns and it felt flat in the middle but then it ramped back up and was so good! I can’t wait to read more. I was given a copy of this book and this is my honest review.Cette critique a été écrite dans le cadre des Critiques en avant-première de LibraryThing. This book is a nice combination of a slight paranormal and love story. The main character has so many doubts about herself and her ability to have someone care about her. She meets the main male character and he can't trust himself to love either. I felt how they learned to trust each other and would read a second book about these characters.aucune critique | ajouter une critique

But as a dark magic cult with an unquenchable thirst for power closes in on them, the couple will have to face more than just their inconvenient desire. "Turner sets up a promising world that readers will be pleased to return to in subsequent installments. Paranormal fans should check this out." - Publisher's Weekly If you like Darynda Jones, Karen Marie Moning, K. F. Breene, or Laurell K. Hamilton, you'll love this fun and sexy paranormal romance!
