Following riddles left upon magic scrolls (these were especially well done), they journey through caves, into enchanted seas, encounter chimeras (not a good house pet!), wyverns, not so nice fairies, and mermaids as they work to recover each part of the missing stone. The world-building was fabulous. As we journeyed for each new part of the stone, I was on the edge of my seat for what exotic corner of the kingdom I would be shown next. My favorite part of the dragon kingdom was the mermaid’s palace. Such lush descriptions of sea life and a seahorse race to boot! This was an enchanting fantasy tale, and a lovely story of friends united in a common goal.
