Though labeled Volume One on the inside, I've never seen a trace of a Volume Two, which surprises the hell out of me, since one-name artist Adam's covers for the HIS 69 line – then only a year old – appear to have been hugely popular. So what reader wouldn't have wanted an oversized (8"x11") collection of frontal nudes, many variations on those cover images? And for $3.00, when the price of a single novel was $1.95? Listened to audio, this starts several years after Noah. Tragedy strikes and Ruth's reign of terror is out of control until Leah uses her gifts. Adam met Jasmine when the Demons and Vampires were at war, pulled into the future where they are now allies and allowed to comingle they give in to their attraction but Jasmine fights the idea of being imprinted. To me one of the things that makes a great author is one who is not afraid to do the unexpected. In this book we get that unexpected moment. We get caught off guard and drawn into a story we may not have expected. Hunted by magic, beset by evil, the Nightwalkers face their darkest hour yet. And when the unthinkable happens, only one legendary male has the power, the will, to save them: Adam. . . For 400 Years He Was Lost To Her, But He Is Hers Tonight. . . From their first tantalizing touch, Jasmine knows he is different. What other lover could unlock her tight control, flood vampire senses jaded by a lifetime of decadent self indulgence? Centuries ago, when he disappeared without a trace, she had given up hope of ever fulfilling the promise of incomparable passion. But here he is, against the very laws of nature, ready to bring down their most vicious enemy, ready to bring her blood to the boiling point. . .if she will only let him. This was an interesting book, in that I really liked the story, but was sooooo turned off by most of the characters. Here you have such powerful beings, but they all seemed so completely helpless. The book is action-packed from beginning to end. That prologue?! What a FANTASTIC way to begin this book... I was taken in immediately. I sort of knew it couldn't stay that way, but this was just one of the most intriguing beginnings ever. Leah is KICK ASS... really loved this character and would love to read her story. Jasmine is also pretty damn cool and I really liked her a lot. Adam seemed cool, but didn't make a lasting impression, although he rated much higher than the other males in this series. The others.... I mean, what a bunch of wusses. So much hand-wringing and so little action. Ruth was a CRAZY ass biatch, but very well done. Her character was so over-the-top fantastic, that I loved her. Don't get me wrong, I wanted to see her destroyed, but she was a great character. I was pretty damn happy with how Nico died... that was satisfying. I'm glad these two were FINALLY dealt with, it just dragged on too freaking long. I have to say I was completely disappointed with Noah and Damien's books and am pretty disgusted with how these characters were made to be so milquetoast in those books. Adam was a rush of adrenaline that was really needed to get me back on-board. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
