So this author is really good at setting up the next book in the series. These books are starting to feel like crack, and I don't really like books set in contemporary dialogue because the slang in dialogue tends to become obnoxious, which was more a problem in the first book because there was a human character than there was in this book. There are some weird creative decisions that make me pause because of the implications of said creative decisions like: If demons can get drunk off of animal milk, where are they getting their supply of giraffe milk, and what does Isabella think of this ( I was hoping for a reaction to it in this book, but it never happened)? or Why use the word Lycanthrope, which refers specifically to werewolves if they are just shapeshifters? or If Lycanthropes' hair is like an appendage, when it becomes fur do they become more vulnerable? or Does the author know that a mountain lion screaming just sounds like a woman screaming? There is also the problem of there not being an HEA for the characters in the first book because of that prophecy about their children, and that the pregnancy is apparently going to last for several books because the gestation period for a demon is... different. It leaves their story open-ended, which is part of the reason I am still reading these books because I crave narrative fulfillment. I thought that this relationship would be more interesting, and I found my attention wavering because there is so much setup for other things, and I think the angst for this particular relationship could have been drawn out more. Like imagine if Legna actively avoided Gideon because of their past or if Noah actually had a problem with their age difference (there must be norms about this considering that Gideon is literally a thousand years old). Also, Corinne really gets the short stick in these books where she isn't really a character so much as she is a plot device.… (plus d'informations)

This book was wonderful and I truly adored it. The world was so rich and interesting, the characters vibrant and full of life, the love story was charming. I can't believe it's not a series, I would love to read the stories of the rest of the pack. Five stars.

I picked this book up in a thrift store for .99. I figured if it's awful, no harm no foul. I was pleasantly surprised.

Billed as a paranormal romance, this book could have been more erotica than paranormal romance. It is not. Yes, as is common with the romance genre there are sex scenes, but it's not every two pages at the sacrifice of having a fully developed story.

Also, having read a ton of the genre, there is always the concern of "it's already been told." This series is unique. I will continue through it.… (plus d'informations)
