I received this book in the members giveaway for librarything.com. I gave this book a 5 out of 5 stars, because I really enjoyed the book. I love how the author had wrote down poems during her relationship with the guy. I felt like I could identify with her. They were beautifully done. I am so glad that she stood up for what she believe and moved on. ( )Cette critique a été rédigée pour LibraryThing Member Giveaways. I received a copy of this book from LibraryThing in exchange for an honest review. This was a very cool collection of poems. I really liked the concept of chronological poems summarizing the relationship from first date to finding meaning in the breakup. I also enjoyed the variations of the poems; while many covered the same issues or events, they varied in tone, audience, rhyme scheme, and structure. And many poems included very clever puns and played on words, which I thoroughly enjoy. The only thing I disliked was the slut-shaming tone that appeared in some of the poems, which were obviously done during times of anger but still shifted the blame onto the wrong person. My favorite part was Oredein finding power and strength to move on and her chronicling the journey. Cette critique a été rédigée pour LibraryThing Member Giveaways. This book is a collection of poems that are in sequence with the heartbreak the writer was going through. My favorite is on page 41. I can relate and anyone who's ever gone through that build up ( cloud nine) the beginning of a relationship and the fall when you realize it's finality. Even though it hasn't ended your gut already knows it will. I felt like I read the authors diary. I think many will enjoy this and will be able to share in the butterflies of a new love and the grief when it dies. I love poetry and this was my first journal of poems. Ok...So they say everything happens for a reason. But try telling that to a young woman with a newly broken heart. It doesn't help. What possible purpose could a jerk of an ex-boyfriend serve in the grand scheme of things? After writing a ton of poetry chronicling her entire relationship (including some poems riddled with humor, and others filled to the brim with the highest levels of "pissivity"), the whole reflection culminated in an unexpected life lesson that surfaced on 9/11. So it seems that even crappy ex-boyfriends are good for something after all. Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |
