This was an encouraging collection of devotions and insights from someone who has overcome much through his faith and determination. I have heard his story a few times and have been inspired with his grit and determination. This book of reflections would be appropriate to anyone who is going through trials and needs encouragement. Cette critique a été écrite dans le cadre des Critiques en avant-première de LibraryThing. Well-written and insightful. Nick has experienced significant troubles, and in the midst of them is able to point to God's good work in his life. The devotionals are encouraging and thought-provoking I won a copy of this book through a goodreads giveaway. I hightly enjoyed this book, and I think that anyone can benefit from reading this devotional. The main message of this devotional is that we will all face problems, but God is limitless; He is able to help us with anything and everything. The book shows how one man puts his faith in God no matter what his circumstances are, and no matter what he faces in this world. The book shows how we can also have that faith too. This devotional draws from the material found in the author's two other books: "Life Without Limits" and "Unstoppable". There are 50 chapters, each about 3 to 4 pages long. Each chapter begins with a biblical verse, followed by an inspirational message from the author. The message deals with the author's own experiences and offers his guidance for the reader. The messages in the devotional talk about the author's own experiences with a specific topic (such as failure) and how he behaves. There are topics of difficulty that people experience such as failure, loneliness, and sadness. There are also positive topics such as of hope, faith, and miracles. The author also provides words of guidance at the end of each message. Cette critique a été écrite dans le cadre des Critiques en avant-première de LibraryThing. It's a devotional with short meditations. The author shares his positive insights on life as a Christian with a "disability" (don't know how to say without being offensive. This a good book especially for those struggling with their self-worth, lack of motivation or just need something to read every morning or whenever they do their devotions. Nick is definitely inspirational. Wow! aucune critique | ajouter une critique
"Nick Vujicic knows there is no greater hope than trusting in God's plan for your life. Born without arms or legs, Nick has experienced both the peak of hope and the depth of despair. But he has overcome his circumstances and physical limitations by clinging to his faith and understanding the limitless love and power God has for every person"--P. [4] of cover. I had the opportunity to see Nick speak once live and I was moved by his story and loved his humor. He is truly a wonderful speaker and a committed Christian devoted to God. He brings positivity and a whole different outlook to God. When I saw this as an option to read, I instantly requested to review it.
I am glad I did.
This is a devotional book and even though it is in the title, I somehow missed that (duh). In the intro, he says that this is not from new material, but from his previous two books. This may be disappointing to some, but since I never read his other two books, it was new to me. For fans who did read his other two, this is not new stuff, except probably the prayer portions at the end, but that is just a guess.
The idea is that it is meant to be read daily for inspiration and a bit of uplifting. The book is very positive. There are many references to the fact that he was born without arms and legs which is a big part of his ministry, so it is an obvious go to. It might be hard for others to relate to, but the focus is, if I could be faithful and overcome with my condition, you can too. As I wrote, it is a positive message, it is well written, and it was humorous at points.
Worth the read. ( )
