Tulsa McGrath, an attorney with her own business in Los Angeles, has come back to her roots in Powder Springs, Colorado to help her sister with a custody issue. The situation is complicated by the fact that opposing counsel is Cade Montgomery, a former boyfriend.

The quirky McGrath and Montgomery family members add an understated humor but the long descriptions slow the plot down. It also felt like the descriptions of the issues facing Tulsa and Cade were repeated too often. Although this is the story of Tulsa and Cade, we read enough about Tulsa' sister, Savannah and Cade's half brother, Wayne to want to know more about how their stories are resolved. Overall this was a pretty good read but not one that I would highly recommend.
