Haha, one of my favorite books back in my first year of high school. I remember really enjoying the story and almost crying at the end. I'll have to re-read it. ( )

The scribbler of dreams is a romance filled with hatred. Kaitlin Malone was an 18 year old girl who was born to hate the Crutchfields, Kaitlin's father killed the Crutchfields father on a stormy rainy night. He is now in prison. Kaitlin's mother moved Kaitlin and Abby to twin oaks high school, the Crutchfields school. Kaitlin then started to fall in love with Bram the moment she seen him. Kaitlin and Bram would sit outside at lunch and he would draw and she would write in her journal. One day Bram walked up and started talking to Kaitlin and showed her a picture that he was drawing, when she looked at the picture it was of her. Everyday since then her and Bram would sit outside at lunch. Bram didn't know that she was a Malone. When her mother enrolled them into twin oaks she enrolled them as Kaitlin and Abby Hampton. A while after they started talking Bram told her that he was a Cruthfield. Kaitlin couldn't believe that she was In love with a Crutchfield. Bram eventually took Kaitlin to meet his mom. Bram's mom knew that Kaitlin enjoyed writing, so she had Bram take Kaitlin out to the garage and give Kaitlin one of their great cousins diaries to find out the truth about what happen that night between the Malone's and Crutchfields. if you like romance books then this is the book for you. Kaitlin's father is sent to prison after "killing" one of the Crutchfields on a stormy night. This does not help they growing family fued that started with their great grandparents. Not only that, but Kaitlin and her annoying freshman sister have to go to a new school located on the Crutchfields turf. At the school she meets a promising young man and she falls deeply in love with him. Only afterwards she finds out that he is the son of the man her father killed, and part of the family she learned to hate since she was born.
But after meeting his family, and finding an old dusty diary from the woman who started this feud, she begins to wonder what really happened, and if all this hatred is based on a missunderstanding that happened generations ago between two jeolous sisters.

Scribbler of Dreams was extremely well written and i will never grow tired of reading this story full of love, hate, and secrets. ( )

The novel, Scribbler of Dreams by Mary E. Pearson encompasses the theme of holding a grudge is like holding ice, you become numb. In the beginning, Kaitlyn Malone, struggles with living/surviving her senior year at Twin Oaks, the highschool she currently attends. Her family, the Malones, hold a hatred filled grudge against the Crutchfield family because of Bram's father's death, and Kaitlyn's in jail. Throughout the middle she preservers through deciding what to do about her secret identity as Kaitlyn Hampton and her love for Bram Crutchfield. She also fights to find herself and her family because her father is in jail. Her love for Bram makes her look underneath someone's exterior and find the interior because that's what really matters in a person, however much you hate their family. By the end she has learned that love is a very powerful thing, and it helped with her family and the Crutchfield family age-old grudge. 223/223 ( )

Scribbler of dreams is a heartwarming romance novel that is similar to Romeo and Juliet. The story has great description, and tells the consequences of keeping a web of lies. It is definitely one of my favorite books.
