This was cute, and I think it would be really good to use in a story time. ( )

Review:
This fantasy picture book puts a spin on the classic children's song "If You're Happy and You Know It", by describing all the different qualities that a monster would have, such as claws, warts, and tails.
Critique:
This book is a cute example of a fantasy because it brings to life mythical creatures such as monsters to life by describing some of their qualities.
Uses:
1. This book would be a great book to have on hand in the classroom as a brain break. When students need a break, the teachers could read or sing this book and act out the various actions that the monsters do.
2. After reading or singing this book to the class, one could have students break into small groups and come up with their own versions of the song "If You're Happy and You Know It".

This was a last minute addition to my story time this week. I had lots of 2 year olds who are squirmier then 3 year olds and I thought this would be a good way to get some wiggles out. I told all the kids to pretend they were monsters and we twitched, wiggled and stamped our claws and had a grand old time. So glad I went with this. ( )
