Sharon Damkaer has written a lovely piece about the importance of libraries in the February issue of Dogs in Review. It was written in response to the American Kennel Club's termination of the librarian at the AKC Library. The Library is the largest collection of dog books and publications in the US, if not the world, with over 18,000 volumes about purebred dogs, and it is now seen by appointment only and lacks a librarian.
