(I searched the Librarything Local group and found no reference to NZ, so i don't think I'm duplicating any discussion. We're a pretty quiet lot here, really)

Since we're suddenly an active group again, how are we doing at entering NZ bookshops and libraries?

I entered a few initially, but really haven't been back to do more since the first couple of weeks. I know I'm not the only one who has entered ones for Auckland. *heads off to have a look*

(I'm not trying to be Aucklandocentric here, it's just the area I know best, please talk about your efforts in whichever areas you live and travel in!)

Auckland Public Libraries seem pretty well covered, Manukau not so much, and Waitakere hardly at all, there are blue dots on the North Shore, but I don't know their library system at all to know if there are gaps. More research needed!

Universities - AUT and UoA are there, but not the UoA divisional libraries, and Albany Massey isn't yet.

Whitcoulls is well covered, no sign of the even more 'bestsellers and coffee table book stationers shop' PaperPlus. I think a lot of the smaller book exchanges are missing - I had a better knowledge of them all ten years ago than I do post-internet, but again, more research needed.

And this is now looking like my todo list, because I haven't got time to start adding them today!

Thanks, it's great to see our little group picking up again :)

Yes, I started working through the National Library's public library index but soon lost track of my progress (this was back when LT Local was in beta testing), I also entered a few bookshops in Taranaki - but it'd be awesome to spread those dots across New Zealand!

Christchurch seems to be completely taken care of as far as the public libraries and Whitcoulls stores are concerned. Paper Plus might also be done but I'm not as familiar with where their stores are and haven't tried to find them.
There's bound to be a lot of second-hand book sellers that aren't on the list yet but some have been added.

You can also enter events (readings, meetings of writers' groups etc.) in LT Local. I know that the New Zealand Poetry Society (NZPS) enters its monthly meetings in Wellington. Does anyone else enter book-related events?
