Any thoughts on hearing how incompetent a gardener Bleasdale was?

He had to have an in with the Harford family. Why would they let him stay, otherwise.

Bingo! This brought me back to my doubts over Nigel Armley, who’d supposedly had his face shot off in 1985. A gardener who “Didn’t know his wallflowers from his daffodils,”? Adding two and two together, I’m coming up with Bleasdale in Yorkshire equaling Nigel Armley, while the faceless Armley in Devon equals poor old Bleasdale (which also would explain Emma mentioning him at the murder site).

It was almost like Bleasdale was not himself and someone was posing as him. I like Sergie’s suggestion that the real Bleasdale was killed and someone took on his identity.

I grew with others, someone was masquerading as Bleasdale. The book said Bleasdale was masquerading as a gardener in my opinion as a red herring.
