Completing the Collection

I had my son help me put all my books in order today and found that I have all the blues (#51 - 75) and all the browns (#76-100). By the end of January, I will have all the teal books as well. (#101-117); only missing three of those.

I have no hope of getting the first 25 (dark green) as they quit expensive. I was surprised to find that I did have two dark greens in my collection through. They must have been gifts because I don't think I'd spend that much on those books.

Once I've completed the reds (#26-50), I'm done. I have eight reds currently.

What does your collection look like? Have you managed to collect all 117 titles? What is the most you have paid for a single book?

One dark blue-green (The Southwestern Expedition of Zebulon M. Pike, 1925)
7 of the red
10 of the blue
14 of the brown
9 of the light green

>2 Betelgeuse: That is a really good start! Do you plan to continue collecting the remaining books?

I’m missing around 15 from the early years.

>4 Betelgeuse: I understand that! Having to rearrange the bookcase that I have all my Classics in to accommodate the missing teal/light green books.

>5 varielle: From the early years? The "greenies"? #s 1 to 25?

How long have you been collecting to be missing only 15 books? I impressed and kind of jealous. ;)

>7 regdeleon: I've been hunting them for about 40 years. Missing most of 1903-1918. I had a brief temp job at an R. R. Donnelley plant that made me interested in them many moons ago.

>8 varielle: Oh, I see. My boyfriend worked at Donnelley back in the late 80s. He didn't want the few books he had and gave them to me. That's how I got started.
