Hero suspected her father might be connected to the murder. Any initial thoughts why she would suspect him, and why he might be connected? Could this murder be connected to the Government of the country, or the Prince Regent?

I would suspect him of being capable of almost anything. So, what's a little murder? It could be connected to the Prince or the government. Have to know a bit more about her.

At this point it could be anyone but Hero would know her father and his capabilities. He's as good as guilty as anyone else. Need more information.

The Prince Regent seems very unpopular and he seems to be very worried about the rise in the clamour for King Arthur to return to save them from this Prince (excuse the reference to Henry II there 😂). Given this you can see why the government and Prince Regent might want to shut down any possible discovery linked to King Arthur that could feed this rhetoric. This could include killing the person who might announce this discovery.

John if you haven’t’ read any of the other books in the series Jarvis is definitely the baddy in the books, and Sebastian’s nemesis.

Jarvis is described as the most powerful man in England. It is said of him when he deals with someone they are rarely seen again. He is a strong monarchist and an aid aid to Prince Charles, who is strongly disliked with a fear of King Arthurs possible return.
Hero suspects her father due to a overheard conversation. She has a hard time believing his denial as she does't know when he lies.

But, guys - we found out Sebastian’s father isn’t his actual father, if you remember - so they’re not brother and sister.

There seems to be a political movement out there calling for an ‘Arthur’, but I don’t know why Gabrielle would be killed, unless she was amongst the instigators of this movement. It seems drastic to kill a woman, though. Why not just frighten her off? (Unless this was tried, and failed.)
We need to see whether more bodies turn up.
