Fellow members,
I read a fascinating book called Predictocracy by Michael Abramowicz. It deals with prediction markets, also called information markets, i.e. Iowa Electronic Market. He gives a detailed description of how they work, their possible implications in both public and private spheres, and how they could bring about better decision-making by checking the pulse of the people, harnessing the "wisdom of crowds" by setting up a variety of market/trading structures, depending on what sort of information one is looking for. If you liked "Super Crunchers" you'll be glad to know that the author, Ian Ayres, contributed a generous and praising blurb. I would encourage anyone to check it out.
