I don't believe it would help and definitely don't think it would hold up in court but I bet they do it anyway.

They can try... but another waste of time and resources. They will run into problems as Sharkey is technology a child.

Yeah. From a reader's standpoint, it'd be fun to see if he came up with any clues. Bosch needs something from somewhere to enable him to move forward on this.
