Technically, yes. He knew the victim in the past. However, his knowledge led him to information that revealed he had been murdered rather than an accidental overdose/suicide. Their history is so far in the past it seems like it wouldn't matter but I don't know what the actual rules are for this type of situation.

Could have been but I think the "history" that they have is so old that it shouldn't be an issue.

Yes it is a conflict of interest. I don't think you are suppose to work on a case if you knew the person.

Come on...he was in the same tunnel group as Meadows and it had been 20 years. He didn't even see or meet Meadows when he called Harry for help and Harry got him into a VA program. To make matters worse...Harry knew him as Meadows, not Fields. I would think they would realize that because of their shared experiences in Vietnam that Harry would be able to see things that the average person would either not understand,misinterpret, or just overlook. >4 EadieB: You are correct ...but Harry didn't really KNOW him....he only knew OF him.
