Did you think the original victim could have been an ex offender? Do you think this is important?

I assumed that there was something bad in her past. When Sergei pointed out that she was probably in jail, it made sense. It definitely points to someone (the victim's victim's family) looking for revenge for her past crime though it seems strange that they would wait this long unless they only just found her.

I think Pauline was an ex offender and was convicted of murdering a baby and a family member may have killed Pauline in revenge.

I thought that Pauline was the girl in the prologue but I didn't know what she was in prison for. I don't think she killed anyone and it will soon come out in Wesley's investigation. Her death could be a revenge act by someone in the baby's family or by the real killer who may be afraid she knows who he is.

I think Pauline went to prison for killing a baby but she was probably innocent. She was killed by someone who was involved in that incident...probably the real killer.

Yes, I've thought all along that Pauline had done time. I agree with Carol and OM that Pauline was more than likely wrongly accused and imprisoned for murder. I've never got over the picture of the 7-y-o boy watching as she was led away. My money is on him having killed his baby sister.
(ps - correction, it was a baby brother, not sister, :)! )
