Was Steve right to try and cover up he was with a girl when he found the body?

In this case, it didn't make any difference to the id of the victim or how the body was found but I think it was definitely shoddy police work and unethical.

He tried to cover it up but they had him figured out anyway.

His superiors know what a disgusting pig he is but it doesn't seem to matter. No he shouldn't have covered it up...but that would require him to have some degree of intelligence and common decency. He had no business being with ANY woman/girl while he was supposed to be working let alone a 16 year old girl.

I don't understand why he hasn't even had some sort of official reprimand. He had every intention of having sex with a barely 16 year old girl.

No, he wasn't right to try and cover it, especially as the truth was likely to get out anyway - Leanne does not strike me as the type to keep a secret.

>6 Sergeirocks: I think she was beginning to have second thoughts about where she was and what his intentions were. Lucky for her that Lee's body floating in when it did.

>7 Carol420: I think Steve might have been minutes away from committing rape; he had been getting mixed signals from this girl, believing her to be older (as we found out later) and being a tease. He was totally unaware of her fear at the situation she had got herself into.
As you say, 'saved by the floating body...'.
