Any thoughts on drones?

I don't have an issue with them if they are used at the borders or on military missions but I don't like the idea of them being used in the US for surveillance. Plus, I really hate the consumer ones - too many peeping toms using those.

I don't have a problem with them being used by the military and at the borders but it does seem that EVERYBODY has one these days and they aren't using them to protect anyone...they are spying.

We just got robots in our supermarket that go up and down the aisles that are suppose to be searching for spills. I think they are scary to children and are spying and listening to customers.

I also don’t mind drones for protection but not for spying.

>4 EadieB: Wonder if they could train those robots to do your shopping for you:)

>5 Carol420: They are always in my face when I turn around. Very scary when you least expect it! They probably know what everyone is buying. They also have internet shopping now and they deliver your food order to your door. My daughter does this when she is too busy to food shop. Once I was there and was checking her order and if they substitute items and you didn’t want the substitution they take the cost off your bill and you get to keep the item.

>6 EadieB: I have a friend that does the food shopping for other people thing. I think she spends more in gas than she makes but she says it gives her something to do. I guess I'm just too leary of knocking on a strangers door. Probably read too many of these murder mysteries:) She says she's run into some strange ones.

Worrying about these use of drones. Have their uses but in their place. Consumer use of them is plain annoying, and especially the buzzing they make. Spoil your peace. Also oook at how drones closed down Gatwick airport for a couple of days before Christmas!

I like the idea that drones can monitor problematic situations. My community has outlawed those real estate drones that take photos of your house before sale. I can see where that's a problem. I'm a fan of military drones in place of human soldiers. I would rather lose a drone than a soldier.

>9 Olivermagnus: You bet. My son was a soldier for 30 years and my grandson still is in the National Guard. I would sacrifice a drone any day over a living, breathing person.

I wish there was no need for them.
