Did we see a different side to Painter when he escaped?

Yes. This was far more dynamic and special operative type behaviour. Don't think I could control a needle between my toes, let alone manoeuvre one to pick a lock... ;)

Yes, he seemed to come alive in the end of the book.

I thought he seemed much more "secret agenty" toward the end. I can't figure out how someone could actually do the pin trick.
