How do you account for one of the assailants looking like Safia?

Possibly they could be related.

Related and possibly connected to whatever tragedy happened in the past that affects Safia.

>2 EadieB: >3 Olivermagnus: I agree. Since we are in the near neighborhood of science fiction...maybe Safia is an "experimental" model assassin and everyone in her 'village" looks like her. Okay...I'll go quietly to the boat. restraints aren't necessary.:)

I did wonder if it could be a sister? Separated at birth? Perhaps I need to join Carol on the boat!

If we're heading towards the realms of sci-fi, with Kara's father having disappeared in a sand-devil umpteen years ago, and a band of women chasing down Omaha (maybe also linked to Kara's father?), perhaps I'll stretch my imagination to cloning!? Maybe all the assailants would have looked like Safia...

>5 Andrew-theQM: I assumed she was a relative since Safia is an "orphan"
