I'm new to LibraryThing and am trying to learn my way around the site. I just found this group, and wonder if anyone knows of other LDS groups I could check out too? I have written 2 works of LDS fiction, A Little Hair of the Dog and Reigning Cats and Dogs, about a klutzy young LDS woman living in Western New York-the non-member world-where she adopts a Great Dane and meets the man of anyone's dreams. I have had posted them a couple of times as Amazon freebies for Kindle and they have been downloaded thousands of times. Both books are nominated this year for the Whitney awards and both have all good reviews (so far) on Amazon and Goodreads. Well with the exception of one person who had downloaded one because they thought it was a mystery and was upset because it was a romance and had so much about Mormons in it. So note to self-if it's clearly labeled LDS Fiction and Romantic Comedy and is not listed in mysteries, it probably is not a mystery...
Has anyone downloaded them or read them? And believe it or not, I myself have not read a lot of LDS fiction. Got any recommendations for me?

There's no accounting for taste, but I like Douglas Thayer.

I, too, am an author, and new to this site. As far as other LDS fiction goes, it depends on if your taste runs to traditional "all's well in Zion" stuff, or "too Mormon for the world, but too worldly for the Mormons" stuff. I've perused both piles, have weighed them in the balance and found most of them wanting. That's one reason why I decided to become The Best Bad Writer In The West.
