Haruhi

Hey, guess what just got released.

I'm torn between wanting to seek out a fan translation (if it ever comes), and wanting to wait for an official English one in a few years, since I can't read Japanese or Chinese or Korean or any of the other "simultaneous world-wide" translations.

But, then, Rampage just came out in English, and I haven't read Boredom or Disappearance yet (not the Little, Brown translations, at least), despite pre-ordering all of them, so I've got time to decide...

Is anyone else collecting these? Original language or translation?

Do you prefer the hardcover or paperback English editions? I'm all about the paperbacks myself, but mostly because I love the cover designs. They're really clever and stylish and I was never really blown away by Noizi Itoh's drawing style.

I'm collecting the normal version of the lightnovel in english. So far I love it, Rampage of Haruhi is on its way to me. I loved the series, and I had to get these. The hardcover-editions looks nicer of course.

For me, it has to be the hardcovers. I can't image replacing a moe girl with an abstract design.

I just got Rampage in the mail a few days ago, I oughta hurry up and read it.

There isn't an abstract design, though...? The paperbacks still have the outline of Haruhi. The little illustration at the top usually has a very specific relation to the novels, like the film strip for Sighs, or the sunflower that is half pixelated for Boredom (because they're summer stories, and also the one with the big bug that Koizumi kills and turns into data is in there).
