Biography (2), nonfiction (1), I would use this story as my folklore book. The students will write about a time they feel they have not been able to fit in. With the discussion previous to the book this should keep the students engaged in the story. (1), how it relates to us (1), This is under the realistic fiction category and would be used to read and discuss a conflict and what a conflict is. We would then go over some of the key vocabulary and discuss the conflict in the story (1), This is a science fiction book that I would use to get my students to write a short story to describe their science project and how it destroyed the world. They will be able to draw their science project but I would like for them to give scripted details (1), Science fiction story the students will come up with their own bot and describe the bots features. They will write them down and then draw their picture to go along with their description. (1), The students will point out the character traits of generosity and also different character traits throughout the story. This will be a fantasy story that we have chosen. They will stay engaged because of the glittery scales and illistrations in the book. (1), This I would use as a fantasy category book and I would have my students come up with their own imaginative place that they can go to and become king or queen of. They would discuss this reading and then draw their fantasy world. (1), This will be under my folklore category and I would use this story to use as a reading lesson to my students in getting the big picture that we help our friends. Afterwords the students would discuss what they liked about the story and then we would look at all the hats that were in the story. We would go back to our seats a (1), I would use this story for when I would be introducing poetry and this would be my reading lesson to introduce the poetry unit. Students will enjoy the story because of the we way it was written and how different it is. (1), With this story I would use it as a reading lesson to point out similes and metaphors and then to describe what they are. This will be a model for them to potential use their own similes and metaphors in their own writing. (1), With this story the students will make their own stories talk about their perfect pet and how they would take care of that perfect pet. They would have to describe the pet and why they chose that pet as well as how to take care of that pet. They will be e (1), I would use this story for a poetry lesson introducing haiku's and how to make your own. This book is good for modeling this and as well as keeping students interest. (1), we would focus our reading lesson on our manners as students. We would act out the manners that we believe we should be using in the classroom as well as draw and write them out. This will keep students engaged and I will also prompt them prior to the sto (1), Since the book discusses using manners (1), and how to resolve the conflict. This is a way for the students to connect to the story (1), I would use this for a sequencing lesson plan for the younger grades. This would be a way to help children remember a sequence going on in a story and to also use their own sequencing when writing. We would discuss the differences from then and now when it comes to women rights and then we could go back to our seats and compare and contrast today's rights to back then rights. (1), When we are learning about presidents I will bring this story out. This is under the historical fiction books. I would use this as a reading discussion to see what they liked about the president that they read and what they disliked. I would share the his (1), I would use this story to be able to describe character traits. The students and I would read aloud the story and then discuss our character in our story. We would go back to our seats to write down the character traits from the story and then discuss. (1), As a class we would read this story and then we would have a readers theater. I would allow the students to come up with their own puppets to use and come up with a script that they would use that is similar to the one used in the story. (1), I would read this to the students to see how important using the correct punctuation is and then afterwords they would go back into their stories from the previous day to check punctuation. The students would be involved with the story and enjoy it becaus (1), I would use this book for a word study to go over all of the different words that were used and weather they were noun (1), I would use this story to compare and contrast real life from fantasy and ask the students to write down the fantasy vs. reality going on in the story then discuss with their groups. As groups they would discuss what they heard in the story and who they think the point of view is from. (1), I would use this story with the older age group because of how big the words become but I enjoy this book because it helps the students learn new words and to understand what they mean in order to use them in their writing. This would be a way to open up (1), With this story I would use it to model how to transitions from a day to weeks. This would be discussed and then they would try and write their own example of time passing. (1), This story is discussing manners so I figured we would just do a reading activity of reading the book together and then discussing good and bad manners and what we should be doing. This has very good consistency with the two words throughout the story that it will model how to use them. My students will enjoy this because the story is very involving using the different times for the lady bug that way everyone is interacting. (1), After reading this story to my students I would allow them time to go back and write about the time they lost their tooth and if they have not lost any teeth then to come up with a story talking about how they think they might loose their first tooth. Som (1), With this story I would model an example of using questions that represent you and what you can do (1), In the story it discusses the traditions that different families hold so for this I would make it a writing lesson where students would write down their own traditions and customs from their families and then share. (1), I would use this story for learning how to recall and retell parts for the story because this story has several different parts where its about recall and retell in order to understand the rest of the story.
