A propos de ma bibliothèque
In the last year I've disposed of at least 1000 books, only a few of which I've actually deleted from my profile. If I ever actually get settled in my new home I will re-catalog. This has been the absolutely most difficult aspect of downsizing. NOTE: I wrote this in 2013, I think. However, it could have been written in 2017 - and probably in 2020. Book-buying is an addiction.
I'm ~4 years behind on updating my Librarything lists; it's a 2017 goal.
A propos de moi
A former clog in the military-industrial machine, I'm now retired.
In 2017, I gave away half of my belongings, put the rest in storage, sold my condo, and drove around the US and Canada by myself. It was wonderful - one of my best-ever experiences. I'm now living in a 1000sf apartment, slowly disposing of more while trying to downsize into (my goal) 700sf. A lot of that space will be filled with books.
