Matt Silady grew up in the suburbs of Chicago. In 1997, he received a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Illinois, Urbana/Champaign and spent the next six years teaching eighth grade in the local public schools.

In the summer of 2003, Matt relocated to the University of California, Davis where he continued to teach while completing a Master’s degree in fiction. His first book, The Homeless Channel, was published by AiT/Planet Lar in May of 2007. He now resides in Berkeley with his fiancé where he is busy working on his second graphic novel.
