Fanning discovered a well dressed genteel young man in our Governor's library, in the fort, who had broke open the book-case, and got a Number of books on the table; but on being surprised got out at a window on the shed, and endeavoured to make his escape, and being pursued was soon taken: He would give no account of himself, was very unruly, and pretended to be out of his senses: On his being searched, a gold watch and eight guineas were found in his possession."
