The five-star rating and the following review is from Kari Beasley's review of "I Choose to Not Love You" at Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/1962723695?book_show_action=true

"One event can change the course of a life forever. One action or inaction is the catalyst for events in the present and future. That's what this book shows us.

"When I first started this book I wasn't sure what to expect. Neither the title nor the description give any real clues. However, I must say I was drawn in from page one. I know next to nothing about the Hollywood scene, but that didn't matter. This book touches on several different topics, from loss of loved ones to trafficking in children and child pornography, and does so with ease as they are interwoven through Bobby and his life. There are several twists in the plot you won't see coming and each one draws you in deeper. You find yourself rooting for Bobby.

"While closing out his life in California Bobby is forced to take a walk down memory lane. He learns people aren't always who they seem as he learns painful truths about family, friends, and himself.

"Bobby has come to the end of his lifelong acting career. He has grown tired of the drama associated with Hollywood and acting. His life has been one typical of a young man growing up in the era of partying, alcohol, and drugs. As a man who spent the majority of his life answering to the demands of others Bobby decides to end his career and announce his retirement on his own terms. He turns to longtime friend and fellow actor Rick for help in closing out his life in California. Bobby hands control of his retirement over to Rick as he knows Rick is discrete. As Bobby and Rick work through the process of ending Bobby's acting career the two realize they have both been affected by child sex trafficking within the acting world. However, it isn't until the very end Bobby learns how truly connected to this underground world in Hollywood he was.

"Bobby was married three times and each wife had a different yet profound affect on Bobby. However, initially I wasn't sure how the memory of Bobby's first wife played into the story. That question was answered near the end of the book, at the perfect time (I felt), and helped to bring closure to Bobby's past."
