Nicholas Yell

The author travelled round the great arid region in the centre of Southern Africa, the Karoo, on a 250cc old scrambler bike. His way took him along all the faint and dusty tracks; he met with numerous quaint characters and remnants of a bygone era, and his travelogue is enriched by many historical snippets on the travellers before him, as well as much information of the scenes of the Boer War which he traversed. An interesting and informative read.
