As one who reads a lot of book reviews (and I am), I would have to ask myself “What am I looking for?”. Then say that this reviewer and his book delivers. I liked this book very much. Delivers what, how, why?

I don’t trust second hand accounts. Wineberg reads the book, he does not re-write press releases (and I wonder how many press releasers have read the book). He does not tell me how he feels about, the subject, the author, the weather.

I don’t want anyone to feed me my opinion. Wineberg gives me enough important information in a balanced way (often bringing in sources outside the reviewed book) so that I can make up my out mind. Should I read . . ., and often, I do need to read this book. And surprisingly he made sense of some books I found confusing.

If you are a nonfiction book lover like me, and think you might be somewhat of a gourmet, this book is binge eating and it will satisfy the gourmand in you.
