Book: Center Stage
Author: Dannye Williamsen
Genre: PNR/Contemporary Romance/Inspirational Romance
Length: Novel

I really don't like to give comparisons when I'm writing reviews, but I make exceptions to that from time to time to get my point across easier. CENTER STAGE by DANNYE WILLIAMSEN is a fantastic book. It reminded me of one of my all-time favorite movies, It's a Wonderful Life, but with an imaginative twist. Can you picture it if Mr. Potter were made to examine his life's choices and how those choices affected others? Sounds like fun, doesn't it?

April is a self-absorbed, devious woman who will go to any length to get to the top of the corporate ladder. As the reader is made aware of some of her choices and learns how those choices affected others, you grow to despise this self-absorbed woman. CENTER STAGE is the perfect name for this book, because April strives to be there in the spotlight all alone, at the top of her game without any thought to how her unscrupulous behavior condemns or breaks all those around her, even those who had taken her under their wing and considered her part of their team.

The writing in this book is magic, just as with all other books written by Ms. Williamsen. She spins a tail so breathtaking with her words that the reader literally forgets they are reading and feels more like a fly on the wall, watching as each scene progresses and feeling the pain and anguish within the words. My emotions ran the gambit while reading CENTER STAGE. I was filled with anger toward this woman, but by the end of the book, tears were flowing so freely that I was forced to put my Kindle down and regroup before reading the conclusion. Ms. Williamsen has that uncanny ability to make the reader feel empathy for a character that is so unlikeable you just want to beat her with a stick.

April is one of those characters that I love to hate, but by the end, I was cheering for her. I'm not going to tell you if things worked out for her or not, because frankly, that was one of the high points in this book for me. It kept me guessing all the way to the last page.

I highly recommend CENTER STAGE by DANNYE WILLIAMSEN. I warn you, though, you may be looking at those who hurt you in your past a little differently after reading this novel of a woman being confronted with her past and enlightened to others she has destroyed.

Book: Metaphysical Minute - Philosophy on the Run
Author: Dannye Williamsen
Genre: Personal Growth, Self Help
Length: Approximately 92 Pages

My "Chicken Soup" for Spiritual and Personal Growth

METAPHYSICAL MINUTE - PHILOSOPHY ON THE RUN by DANNYE WILLIAMSEN is a wonderful tool if you are looking for personal and spiritual growth. This book contains a collection of essays that are not, by any means, a fast, easy read, but an intensely deep, thought provoking look at the way we, as people, look at situations surrounding us and the way we deal with them. I highly recommend reading one essay at a time and then taking time to ponder on the message within it.

On a very personal note, I found that I've actually started to reevaluated the way I look at different situations. An example of this happened just yesterday. I had an altercation with someone that I love dearly. This is something that has happened time and time again throughout our relationship over the exact same thing.

Have you ever found yourself in a position where you walk into someone's personal space and can instantly feel the intense negativity surrounding them? Well, if you had been a mile away from me, you'd have felt it pouring out of me. Once I got through the initial "mad" I was feeling, I opened METAPHYSICAL MINUTE and went directly to the essay that dealt with what I happened to be going through. I read through it several times, stilled myself, and started to exam how I was reacting to the situation.

I'm not proud of the fact that initially, all I could think of was getting her back for what she had done as a way to try to make her understand what she had put me through. After reading this particular essay, I feel I have the tools to deal with this situation now and in the future with a more positive outlook. I know in my heart, this same situation will arise again because I can't change someone else, but I also now know that I can change how I react to it. After I really started to understand that, my whole outlook changed. I had worked myself up into a frenzy, made myself ill over it, and initially said some very damaging things to this person that I love dearly. Now, I feel I have the tools to move forward from this argument, pull the positive from it, and move on. Hopefully, when this happens again in the future, I will be able to put what I've learned through these essays to use immediately and have a completely different outcome. Maybe, just maybe, by reacting differently to this, the other person involved will see the difference and make some changes as well.

I highly recommend METAPHYSICAL MINUTE - PHILOSPHY ON THE RUN by DANNYE WILLIAMSEN.

Book: The Threads That Bind
(Sequel to Second Chances)
Author: Dannye Williamsen
Genre: Paranormal (Psychic abilities), Suspense, Thriller, Family Saga
Length: Approximately 328 Pages

THE THREADS THAT BIND by DANNYE WILLIAMSEN is the sequel to SECOND CHANCES. While these are two very different books, I highly recommend that you read them in order. I read and reviewed Second Chances in January 2012 and a year later, I find that I still think about this book and one character in particular, so I was thrilled to pick up THE THREADS THAT BIND to meet Darian's son, Fredrick.

THE THREADS THAT BIND picks the story up thirty-nine years later. We get reacquainted with some of the characters from SECOND CHANCES and meet new characters, all of whom were written so masterfully that I found myself really caring about them and their relationships with each other. I'm going to tell you a little secret. Avatar is back in this book. I was so pleased that this magnificent creature was back that I found myself smiling and audibly cooing. I loved this very spiritual being in Second Chances and he did not disappoint in this book. Also we get to meet Mandy a spunky and funny character that provided many laugh out loud moments in the book for me.

THE THREADS THAT BIND is a story of families and friendships torn apart by death and brought back together by those wonderful unseen ties. As a reader, I felt the deep sorrow of the characters and their trials at overcoming guilt about the circumstances of their loved ones deaths that touch their lives for many years afterward. The remaining family members and friends are drawn together and find that the deaths of their loved ones were not accidental but brought about by the hands of a psychopath.

Once again, Ms. Williamsen has created a character that is easily despised. Throughout the book, I kept wondering how that maniac was going to get his in the end, and BAM, Ms. Williamsen made the reader's heart go out to him in the end. I found that I wanted to wrap my arms around him and let him know everything was going to be okay. I just can't believe that an author has the ability to make a reader revile a character in such a way and then change that emotion to complete and utter compassion. AMAZING!

This book has it all. Beautiful writing, suspenseful moments, thrills that will have you jumping up and screaming, "No!!!!", tender interactions between the characters and a storyline that sucks you in and won't let go. At times, I found myself struck by how profound some of the sentiments made from mother to daughter or father to daughter were. So much so, that Jillian, while too young to understand what her mother was telling her, she would write the statements down in her journal knowing that one day they would make sense to her and make a difference in her life. These statements were so thought provoking, so inspired that I, myself, highlighted them so I could re-read them and continue to think about them.

I highly recommend this book!

Book: The Seasons of My Soul
Author: Dannye Williamsen
Genre: Poetry
Length: Approximately 59 pages

Let me just start this review out by saying that I do not read poetry. I've never much cared for it, and I've never really understood it. I know that it touches many people, but it's never touched me. With that out of the way, one of my favorite authors, DANNYE WILLIAMSEN, has published THE SEASONS OF MY SOUL, a book of poetry that she's written throughout her life.

I picked this book up because I'm such a fan of Ms. Williamsen's paranormal reads. She has a beautiful writing style that keeps the reader captivated, so I thought I'd give it a go. I must say that I was more than pleasantly surprised by the poems in this book. Maybe it's because of the way they are presented. Ms. Williamsen makes this a very personal undertaking by describing events that were happening in her life when she stopped to take the time to write these poems. Maybe it's that format that made this such a beautiful read to me, why I was able to understand and feel the words so much more than other poetry I've tried to read. I was able to relate to many of the poems because all of us have found ourselves in many of the situations that Ms. Williamsen was in when taking pen to paper and writing these very thoughtful and at times heart wrenching thoughts about ebbs and flows in our lives.

The thing that made me happiest about this book of poems was the feeling I had after I read it. I was filled with hope that even though I may revert to my old way of thinking, there will come a time when I will be able to move forward again in a positive light.

Even if you are like me and do not normally read poetry, this is a wonderful read and I highly recommend it.
