I read this book via a Amazon-US KINDLE Unlimited download.

Being an author myself, I, like practically every other author have a propensity to write or at least attempt to write every story which happens to pop up in those tiny grey cells of our minds in order to share them with our readers.

This is why, I’ve felt a sort of kinship with Ms. Jocelyn White, as she’s succeeded in sharing all the short stories and poems she had in her mind at the time she’d been compiling this endeavor; while I’m slowly completing mine.

The eclectic selection the author has chosen to include here is designed to please a wide audience, including me; leaving me wanting to give this author 4.5 STARS, but with the rounding convention, I’ve given Ms. White 5 STARS.

Offering an antidote to discussions of health and wellness that overlook the diversity of women's experiences, THE LESBIAN HEALTH BOOK brings together a wide range of voices from the lesbian community—doctors and other health care providers, women facing illness or life changes, health activists and many others. This volume highlights personal and community efforts to make health care accessible and responsive to lesbians.

With resilience and spirit, the contributors explore experiences with health issues that affect their lives and communities, including: the history of the lesbian movement, how AIDS affects the lesbian community, what special challenges and joys face lesbian parents, what to expect during menopause, midlife and beyond, how to find a lesbian-friendly health care provider, how depression and other mental health issues affect lesbians and a blueprint for the future of lesbian health.

Dedicated to improving the conditions in which lesbians strive for health and well-being, THE LESBIAN HEALTH BOOK is an invaluable resource for lesbians and their health care providers.
