I was really surprised how much I liked this book. This is a great adventure story with a unique premise. I liked Alix and his struggle/journey to find himself and trust his mind. It also includes pirates, which somehow works. Trust me.

It's probably aimed at pre/young teens, but can be enjoyed by all. Both main characters were well done. It was a slow start but I'm glad I stuck with.

This was a full bodied young adult fantasy novel. I love the fact that Emily Victoria was able to tell the entire story in one book, it made the book engaging and entertaining. I love that Karis picks up more companions as the story continues and makes some good and bad choices in her attempt to save her brother. I also love that Karis being aro-ace doesn't end up falling in love with Alex but I liked the romances happening with the supporting characters. Looking forward to reading more of Emily Victoria's books in the future.

My kind of tale here. Devlin is a mix of bravery, derring-do, and fear. That fear, mostly that she'll disappoint her powerful mother who is a spy, is so paralyzing it frequently stops her from telling the truth. The world she lives in is being savaged by a thick monster-filled mist that was created when two sisters who were queens, had a disagreement over magic and things went bad. Her kingdom, Aris, is taking the brunt of damage, mostly because their magic workers have been weakened by a constant need to recharge barriers and fight the terrible beasts lurking inside the mist.
When she's sent to kidnap a powerful magic user in the other kingdom, she's at first determined to follow her mother's orders, but the longer she's there and gets to know Alyse, the murkier her mission becomes. What eventually unfolds makes for an exciting and very satisfying story. It's an excellent book for school and public libraries to own.

Silver in the Mist by Emily Victoria sounds promising on paper but was not as impressive as I hoped upon finishing it. While the story is entertaining enough, I feel much of it lacks the depth I’ve become accustomed to experiencing when reading young adult fantasy. The characters lack development, and the plot is very straightforward. Again, this isn’t bad, but it is not what I’m used to reading in YA. I did enjoy Silver in the Mist but didn’t love it.

Silver in the Mist is a fast paced, well-written book. The main character, Devlin, is a spy out to save her country. This book brings on the much needed fantasy onto the Young Adult shelves. Storyline and character development are all very well done.

This was a fun, easy read. A feel good fantasy with plenty of swordfights and friendship.
I liked the emphasis on friendship and family over romance, I liked Alix’s conflicted feelings about himself, the secondary characters and the fact that Karis was a protagonist with no battle skills who survived by determination, recklessness and bad mistakes.
Sometimes there was a lot of telling instead of showing, but I really enjoyed this book.

Thank you NetGalley and Inkyard Press for the opportunity to read and review this book I'm exchange for my honest opinion.

Devlin, a spy for Aris, is sent on an undercover mission to Cerena. There she learns not everything is as it seems in either country.

I feel this book is wrote more for a younger audience. It's a little repetitive and the plot is a bit simplistic, but I found myself enjoying it regardless. It does, however, take a little bit of slow pace to get to the good stuff. I was starting to lose interest and then about halfway through, things picked up and I was sucked back in. That could create some problems for readers who don't want to stick it out.

I love the inclusion of an asexual character and a non-binary one. And how their pronouns were brilliantly used and never a mistake. I would want to read more of their story.

Intriguing tale mixing dystopia, pirates, old secrets, and appealing characters, all mixed nicely to create a read that went quickly, but kept me in that world from page one to the end.

This book hits close to home in a couple of ways. The only thing was the fiction in it was absolutely awful. There was no part of this that was even half way true and it was not romantic cute sweet and far from funny I couldn't really get into this book. I thought that where it was supposed to be funny and romantic and erotic it fell short.
