I have to put the six stories of this collection in two categories:
- those that I liked, because the theme was compelling, with an intriguing plot and interesting characters.
"Timescan", "The Centre" and "Life Timer".
- those that left me unsatisfied, as if something was missing, a theme, a clear ending, even if the plot was good.
"The Eye of the Future", "Out of the Void" and "The Letter".
Alexai Vavioski writes interesting stories, but sometimes just too short...
Still, I recommend this book because I liked the overall topic: time.

I received this ebook free through LibraryThing Member Giveaways in exchange for an honest review.

These short stories were reminiscent of The Twilight Zone shows. They were not too long, your can easily read one in a weekend or weeknight of reading, and each had a twist at the end that was unexpected--at least to me. Each story was told in its own unique way, and there were a few places where I just could not put this book down until I was finished reading the story I was on. If you are a fan of The Twilight Zone, I highly recommend these stories to you.

I enjoyed this collection. The stories are clever and well written, leaving me with strange slightly dislocated feelings reminiscent of episodes of the Outer Limits. An indicator for me of good storytelling.

Without giving any spoilers, the tales range from life on board an Ark taking humans and animals to settle a new planet now that earth is slowly dying. Stories with the ability to see into the future or travel to the past, playing with the potential implications of these.

All in all these stories are enjoyable and get me thinking about the themes and feelings for some time afterwards.…
