Lisa Brashier Vandiver

I originally bought this book for my wife, but I was curious and started to read it myself . . . and before I knew what was happening, I was drawn in and, with the exception of a few breaks for sleep, bathroom and food, I didn’t put it down until I was done. As would seem obvious from that statement, this is Page turner and the reader feels compelled to find out what happens next.

The story and characters feel very real and natural. We identify with them and we see them interacting with each other and they remind of us of ourselves and our friends, so when things get heavy the situations feel very intense . . . because it doesn’t feel like a story but feels like something that is actually happening. As I read this story, I was reminded of an Alfred Hitchcock quote: “Drama is life with the dull bits cut out”. That’s what this book felt like to me.

The style is simple and effective and makes the reader feel immersed in the scene.

Overall a great, entertaining read that has a little bit of everything.
