There is no better teacher for average chess players (Elo 1000 to 1899) than Purdy. Even Bobby Fischer acknowledged his teaching skills for chess. After going through volumes 1 and 2 you should use volume 3 to make written notes to refer to in the future. Part three of volume 3 is a summation of all you need to play better.
