Alfred E. Tumminia (1926–2011)

SEMCOG is the Southeast Michigan Coucnil of Governments, TALUS is the Transportation and Land Use Study. This is a part of a study of public transit in the Detroit region funded by a plannig grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The DSR, commonly thought of as Detroit Street Railways, is more fully known as the City of Detroit Department of Street Railways, Thisstudy focused on city service, suburban service is dealt in other reports, and not with the same type of analysis as this report. Routes are classified as CBD Radials (Fort, Michigan, Grand River, Woodward, Gratiot, Jefferson), CBD arterials, cross-corridor feeders (crosstowns), peak period feeders, and neighborhood spinners. Although Tumminia became part of the Southeastern Michigan Transportation Authority, only the suburban bus systems were absorbed ito this agency.
