Critiques

A novel of the Copper Age in Britain. Eventually, after lots of incomprehensible death and torture, a few people discover you can grow barley without the benefit of human sacrifice.

This was an engaging tale of a young man on his first voyage with vikings. It was well-written, not stereotypical, with some character development of the individuals within the diverse crew. While there was violence and killing the author kept it from being unnecessarily graphic.

An Icelandic orphan runs off to sea with a band of Vikings. I found the story a little weak, but it's got some nice historical details and the characters are pretty good.
