World of Darkness by Connor Strong World of Darkness Series 1
Plane crash sets the scene for the beginning of an apocalyptic series set in a different world after an EMP occurs. Kara, Sam, and Danger are in it to win it as they fight to survive not only the crash but the elements, a serial killer, and a world gone mad.
What I liked: * Kara: airline attendant, single mother, doing her best for her family, strong, survivor, wants to get home * Sam: ex-Marine, on his way home to a funeral, has PTSD, a planner, has issues from his past, wounded, persistent * Danger: a BIG dog that survived the crash, bonds Kara and Sam, protective * The strength and endurance of Kara and Sam and all that they did and were willing to do to survive * Thinking about what I would do if there was an EMP and how prepared I would be to survive * That there will be another book to look forward to and hoping to find out how the trio make it “home”
What I didn’t like: * Robert Winters: amoral serial killer who was easy to dislike * That a state of lawlessness that humans sink to rather than rising to be their better selvs.
Did I enjoy this book? Yes Would I read more in the series? Yes
Thank you to NetGalley and Green Candle Press efor the ARC – this is my honest review
