It is amazing what can happen when you have full faith in the lord and have a large heart.
Reading about how the Steele family grew one child at a time was a joy but also heart breaking at what each child had to endure to get there. It amazed me at how heartless the social service workers are not thinking of the children really at all. You would think the workers would want these children to have a loving family that is what their job is about. After the children finally get to have their forever home and be a Steele for life it is wonderful to read of how the children change and grow for the better. Each child is loved in this family and is encouraged to be whatever they want in this world no matter what their limitations are. The book was written in a format that each childs story was told in its own chapter making it so easy to read. I would recommend this book to everybody. God Bless the Steele family.… (plus d'informations)

This is an amazing collection of stories of their amazing kids and their adoption. The difficulties and challenges of when adopting through foster cares. I'm really blown away at thinking how strong this family is. i would never be able to do the same.

A couple having a family of 19 is pretty amazing, but when you considered that this family grew through foster care and adoption, that the adoptions were open and many were trans-racial - now you have not only an amazing story, but a true life lesson that everyone can learn from - even if you are not adopting.

"A Starfish at a Time" by Dana Wynn Steele is a true story and a lesson in living life as God would have us live. Whether a child was of a different race, had special needs or was an older child - none of that made any difference. The Steels prayed over each child and allowed God to direct them when each child came into thier lives.

The Steeles show us that you don't have to be a preacher or a missionary to live and teach God's word. Their life with these children and those to come is a teaching to that we all can learn from.

I did receive a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
